How old do I need to be if I want to apply for work through Get Up & Go Global?
•To apply for work with Get Up & Go Global you need to be at least 18 years old.
If I get hired by an employer through Get Up & Go Global, what will my schedule be once I start work?
•Once you get hired, your schedule will depend on the actual position you accept, the location, and the employer’s needs and requirements. The details of each position’s schedule will be included in the job offer documentation.
If I accept a hospitality position through Get Up & Go Global how much will I be paid?
•When you accept a hospitality position through Get Up & Go Global you become an employee of the company that has hired you. Get Up & Go Global does not issue pay cheques, nor do we take any fees from your pay. Your pay scale is set by the employer and will depend on your position, your experience, the locations of employment, and other benefits offered by the employer.
While I am working how will I be paid and how often?
•After accepting a position through Get Up & Go Global, you will be paid by the company that hires you. In most cases you will be paid in the respective currency of employment and usually bi-weekly. This is subject to differ between employers and will be detailed in the job offer you will receive before you accept a position.
What should I include in my application for work through Get Up & Go Global?
•When you are submitting an application for work through Get Up & Go Global you need to be conscious of the type of work you are applying for and submit relevant information related to that position. For example, if you are applying for a job as a dancer at a resort you would need to submit a dance resume, a cover letter, a few dance videos, and 6-10 recent photos with you in dance wear doing some dance moves. On the other hand, if you are applying for a position as a sales manager for a large hotel chain it is advisable to include a cover letter, a resume detailing your sales experience and achievements, as well as letters of recommendation from past employers. It is always better to submit more information rather than not enough. Please also remember to include your earliest date of availability.
If I get offered a position through Get Up & Go Global at an All-Inclusive resort, does that mean that I get All-Inclusive as well?
•If you find a position at an All-Inclusive resort through Get Up & Go Global, in most cases you will have you accommodations and meals included in your employment. The details of what amenities you will have access to will be available to you before you accept the position.
If I accept a contract position through Get Up & Go Global and I want to stay longer than the contract duration, how would I go about requesting an extension?
•If you are working at a contract position that you found using Get Up & Go Global then your ability to extend your contract would depend on the needs of the employer. We recommend contacting Get Up & Go Global staff as well before your contract expires so that if the employer cannot extend your stay, we would have time to try to place you in a different location if you choose.
I’ve read that Get Up & Go Global encourages people with knowledge of different languages to apply. What if I do not know any other languages other than my mother tongue? Will this affect my chances of getting hired?
•If you know any additional languages it is always beneficial and will increase your chances of finding work in the hospitality industry, however if you only know one language that is fine as there are many jobs that do not require more than one language.
I want to submit my application to Get Up & Go Global to find work in the hospitality industry but I want to work with my friend/boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse. Is it possible for us to find work at the same company and location?
•Get Up & Go Global has many employers that are looking to hire more than one person at the same time. You can apply with your friend or spouse and request that you work together, however there is no guarantee that you will be offered positions at the same company in the same location. Please keep in mind that some companies do not like to hire couples and other companies do not mind so be honest with what you are looking for.
I am looking for work in the hospitality industry, what companies does Get Up & Go Global work with and where the employers are located?
•Get Up & Go Global works with many employers all over the world. We work with All-Inclusive resorts, restaurants, urban hotels, local bars, and everything in between. If you are looking to work in a specific area please state that in your application. In the interest of keeping the confidentiality of our clients, the name of the employer will only be released to you once they have expressed interest in you and request an interview.
If I am working at a resort or a hotel, can I get a discount for my friends and family to come and visit me?
•If you get a job at a resort or a hotel and you would like to find out about friends and family deals you would need to request that information from your supervisor. Most of our clients do offer discounts for family and friends if proper procedures are taken.
I applied for work through Get Up & Go Global and I want to work at an All-Inclusive Resort. The job details say that accommodations are included but where I will be living once I arrive for work?
•If you are applying for work through Get Up & Go Global and you are looking to work at an All-Inclusive resort your accommodations will be provided as part of your employment package. The resort will house you either within the resort in a special area reserved for resort staff, or at a secure location just off the resort grounds with the resort of the resort staff will be staying as well.
I accepted a contract position through Get Up & Go Global for a specific duration but I am unable to complete the full contract term. What should I do and what will happen if I do not complete the full term?
•If you currently employed under contract for a specific duration and you cannot complete your contract you must notify Get Up & Go Global first and speak with one of our representatives. In some cases if you’ve been offered a contact completion bonus or incentive it will be lost if you do not fulfill the complete term.
If I find a position in another country, am I covered for medical while I am employed?
•If you are hired to work in a country other than your own, your medical coverage will depend on the regulations of the country of your employment. The details of coverage or insurance will be available to you before you decide to accept a position.
I would like to apply for work through Get Up & Go Global and I want to know how much you charge for your services?
•At the moment Get Up & Go Global doesn’t not charge applicants any fees. We provide our service free of charge and do not take any fees from your pay once you find a position either.
If I want to work in a different country, do I need a working visa and how long does it last?
•If you are looking to work in a different country then you would require a working visa. The employer usually takes care of that and it is usually valid for one year. If you need to get the visa yourself we would provide you with detailed steps to take to obtain one.
